Karstensens Skibsvaerft A/S is a shipyard with long traditions. It was founded in 1917 and is today owned and managed by a third generation owner and 5 executives.
Traditionally, new building of fishing vessels has been our main activity. However, in recent years, our shipyard has entered a new market in building vessels for the Danish navy. Previously, our shipyard has also built fairly small ferries.
Our shipyard can offer new building of most vessel types up to approx. 135 m in length. Today, Karstensens Skibsvaerft A/S can be characterized as an efficient shipyard facility equipped to present-day standards. Our total number of employees is currently close on 200.
Our employees are highly skilled specialists with long shipbuilding experience. This fact is reflected in the high standards and excellent quality of our products and services. Our shipyard practices our own-developed quality assurance programme, which contributes to enhancing quality and reducing operational problems of the vessels. We employ our own design and construction specialists. The hull and steel production takes place in collaboration with Eastern European shipyards.

The proper choice of technical equipment, machinery and materials in all systems serve as the basis for the best possible outcome. Our shipyard provides competitive solutions, design, planning, estimates, approved supplier selection as well as rational and efficient building of the approved project.
The completion of projects is based on observance of the agreed time of delivery in combination with flexible and continuous updating of the project with respect to new technology and solutions.
