New Contract: The new VOYAGER to be built at Karstensens Skibsværft AS
Arnold & Robert McCullough, Voyager Fishing Company Ltd. from Kilkeel, Northern Ireland, has ordered a 86,4 m. new trawler / purse seiner for delivery 15 August 2017.
Voyager Fishing Company Ltd. i Kilkeel, Northern Irland, has ordered a new trawler / purse seiner based on a design from Salt Ship Design in Stord, Norway. The new fishing vessel will be built at Karstensens Skibsværft AS as newbuilding no. 434. The new VOYAGER will replace the existing 75,6 meter VOYAGER built at Karstensens Skibsværft AS in 2010.
The 86,4 metres fishing vesselhas a beam of 17,8 metres, and will be delivered from the shipyard in August 2017. Salt Ship Design will deliver a complete design and engineering package for the new fishing vessel. The new VOYAGER will be the biggest vessel built at the shipyard to this date.
Voyager Fishing Company has been working closely with Salt for more than six months to develop a vessel tailored for their quotas and the areas where the vessel will operate. This has resulted in a very effective and modern fishing vessel with a loading capacity of more than 3.200 cum.
The hull will be built at Nauta Shipyard in Gdansk and is expected in Skagen January 2017.
